The Proof  (2026) follows a fictional investigation into a real place: Mount Wdżar, its magnetic anomalies, geological history and surrounding stories. Combining documentary photography with constructed imagery, the project moves between recorded facts and imagined explanations. Photographs, maps, field notes, diagrams and objects form an investigation whose apparent coherence remains open to doubt. Images from the Solaris synchrotron extend this inquiry into a scientific setting, where instruments make otherwise inaccessible phenomena visible. Drawing on parafiction and the visual language of research, the work examines how observations acquire authority and become accepted as evidence. It asks how our desire to understand the unknown shapes the stories, images and systems through which we explain reality.
